Straight talk from the author

Today is the one year anniversary of the attack in Benghazi where four Americans were killed. Still we do not know the truth about what happened or what the State Department was up to in Benghazi. The infamous story put out by the Whitehouse about a video is very suspicious and smacks of a cover up. But what were they covering up? We may never know, but there is plenty of speculation out here on the internet.

Another issue that has lost favor in the news cycle is Guantanamo Bay. President Obama came into office claiming that he would close down the facility, where hundreds of detainees are still being held. Soon though his administration found that there are too many legal issues involved in bringing those detainees onto American soil. So in order to close down Gitmo the president is faced with a new dilemma, where else do you put these detainees?

Many of these issues permeated my thinking and inspired this fictional story "Code Name Lawahad: Benghazi Blood." I actually came up with a plausible solution for the housing of the Gitmo detainees. This invention became the scene which I developed as the place where the main character would evolve.

The essence of this story is about the struggle between America and Islamic extremists. In between the lines of this story I hope the readers will see the solution to this struggle which I imply. I also tried to show the two sides as a symbolic persona embodied in Toby and Aafia. The story of their relationship represents the story between America and Islam and invites discussion about how they can work together to defeat Islamic Extremism.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the story.

Code Name Lawahad: Benghazi Blood

This is a new novel recently released on Amazon Kindle. Find it available here: http://www.amazon.com/Code-Name-Lawahad-Benghazi-ebook/dp/B00EKUWRLG/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1378908109&sr=1-3 Book description: Burned by past relationships Toby Harkes flounders during one night and drowns his sorrows in alcohol to extinguish the spark of potential love. He becomes captive, powerless against his feelings for a woman he never thought existed. Thrust into circumstances controlled by secret government agencies, Toby navigates threats that could sink all his hopes for any semblance of love. War and terrorism nourish the industrial-military complex and incites political power but the detainees at Guantanamo Bay are difficult for the public to digest. International Corrections Corporation has proposed a solution that not only captures the interest of the government but also ensnares Toby in an unscrupulous plot. America and Islam are two sides divided by hatred and controlled by villains yet their salvation is coupled to the heart. Finally when Toby learns to escape the prison that detains his love is he able to save them all.
